LeFlore was signed as an amateur free-agent at the age of 25 by the Detroit Tigers in 1973. He would make his professional debut on August 1, 1974 and would split time between three teams in nine seasons. In 1976, LeFlore would make the AL All-Star squad, and in 1980, his only season with the Expos, LeFlore would lead the National League in Stolen Bases with 97.
