Mr. Lovellette was a three-time NBA champion, inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1988. A collegiate legend, Lovellette had his jersey retired at Kansas as a Jayhawk and was an integral part of the 1952 NCAA championship team that defeated St. John's in the final. Clyde was a three-time All-American and three-time Big Seven selection and led the nation in scoring in 1952 with 28.4 PPG. Lovellette was the first basketballer to win an NCAA title, an Olympic championship, and an NBA title. He graciously personalized an index card in thirteen days for me, care of his home address. Thanks, Mr. Lovellette!
