Jonny Gomes was an 18th round draft choice in 2001. Shows great power and promise in the outfield and above average speed for such a big man. Hit 21 homeruns with 6 triples in 2005 as a rookie. Got off to a fast start in 2006 before injuries slowed him down. Gomes suffered a heart attack in 2002 and required emergency angioplasty to unclog an artery, however, was inspired to keep playing even more so by the setback, rather than feeling defeated. Jonny signed both cards for me care of the Devil Rays in forty-seven days. Thanks, Mr. Gomes!
