Lopez was drafted in the second round of the 1983 draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He would make his Major League debut on September 14, 1990, and would finish the season with six Major League games under his belt. He would play 35 more games for Cleveland in 1991, which would be his second, and last, Major League season
