Dwayne was the Boston Red Sox ' thirteenth round draft pick in 1987. He would make his Major League debut on September 1, 1995 at age 28. A hot September, in which he hit .338, landed Hosey on the 1995 AL East Champion Red Sox postseason squad, yet he would go 0-12 with a run scored in the losses to Cleveland. He would only play in 52 games in his Major League career, finishing with four homeruns, twelve stolen bases, and a .274 career batting average.
