Jim was the Indians' thirteenth round pick in the 1989 amateur draft and made his Major League debut in 1991 at the age of 20. Thome entered the 2006 season with 430 career HRs and is coming ever closer to the magic 500 HR mark. Five All-Star games and a Silver Slugger award have propelled Jim Thome into the upper echelon of top Major Leaguers. He kindly signed and returned my card in a little under a month care of the White Sox. Thanks Mr. Thome!
