Former Temple Owl, John Marzano was a Philadelphian, born and raised. Was the Red Sox first round pick, fourteenth overall, in 1984 but never played in more than 52 games in any of his ten Major League seasons, with three seasons, in the middle of his career, where he played ten games or less. Had an amazing .080 batting average in 1992; did not resurface in the Majors until 1996.
