The man who slain the Red Sox, Russell Earl Dent was a three time All-Star and 1978 World Series MVP for the Yankees. Dent was a three-time All-Star shortstop in the American League and finished second in the Rookie of the Year voting in 1974 to Mike Hargrove. Was drafted in the first round of the 1970 draft, sixth overall, by the Chicago White Sox and finished a twelve year career with the Kansas City Royals.
