The Kansas City Roylas joined the American League in 1969. They have won a pair of AL pennants in 1980 and 1985, and were able to defeat the St. Louis Cardinals in 1985 to take their only World Series. The Royals have retired three numbers: 5, George Brett, 10, Dick Howser, and 20, Frank White.
