Eric Plunk 1996 Leaf Signature
Obtained: Purchased from eBay; received October, 2006.
Plunk was a 6'5 righty taken in the fourth round of the 1981 draft by the New York Yankees. Ascended the ranks as a starter and made his Major League debut on May 12, 1986 for the Oakland A's after being acquired in the Rickey Henderson trade. Plunk spent 14 seasons in the Majors with four different teams. Interestingly enough, Plunk played on three teams that reached the World Series, however, he was never able to win a ring. Ironically, in 1989, he was traded mid-season to the New York Yankees, again for Rickey Henderson. The A's would win the World Series.
