The Athletics are nine time World Series champions, with fifteen total American League championships. They were an innagural member of the American League, joining in 1901, as they started in Philadelphia. Of the nine World Series wins, they won five in Philadelphia before moving to Kansas City after the 1954 season. They'd find little success in KC before moving again in 1967, this time to Oakland. It would not take long at all to begin to rack up wins as they pulled together three straight World Series wins from '72-'74, and would win one more in 1989.
