Scott Brosius 1996 Leaf Signature
Obtained: Purchased from eBay; received November, 2006.
Scott Brosius made his mark on the national scene in 1998; at age 31, he was dealt to the Yankees as the "player to be named" in the Kenny Rogers trade. It was in 1998 when he would make his only All-Star game appearance and catapulting the Yanks to a 4-0 sweep of the San Diego Padres. He was the World Series MVP, hitting .471 with two homeruns and six RBIs. Brosius would add the 1999 Gold Glove to his resume before calling it a career following the 2001 season. He would win three straight World Series championships with the Yankees which is pretty amazing considering he was drafted in the twentieth round of the 1987 draft by the Oakland Athletics.
