Harry Kalas Index Card, Post Card, Letter
Obtained: Through the mail. Sent August 4, 2006 c/o Phillies; Received August 19, 2006.
You ever get that warm, fuzzy feeling when everything just works out? Well, I wrote Harry Kalas, telling him how I grew up with his voice, how I missed it dearly since my family has moved to Florida, and that I aspire to be a Phillies broadcaster. I really didn't want his autograph; no, rather, I would have loved a little letter. And that is what I got, without asking. He also returned my SASE inside of a hand written Phillies envelope, which matches his handwriting.
Harry is, by all accounts, one of the true professional big league announcers. He's my professional idol and he didn't let me down, infact, he came through more so than I ever could have hoped for. Mr. Harry Kalas, you have no idea how much I appreciate the letter you wrote. Thank you!
