Elarton's most prosperous year was 2000, where as a 24 year-old, he went 17-7 with a 4.81 ERA for the Houston Astros. He has a hard time duplicating that success, as his record since 2000 has been 26-43, with time split over four different teams. Elarton was the Astros' first round pick of the 1994 draft, 25th overall, and now pitches for the Kansas City Royals.
