Whitey Herzog spent eight seasons in the Majors as a moderately successful platoon outfielder. He would find much more success in the managerial ranks. Whitey managed the Kansas City Royals to three straight division titles from 1976-1978, and would win three pennants, and the 1982 World Series, while managing the St. Louis Cardinals. Mr. Herzog kindly signed and returned my card and index card in seven days care of his home; thanks Mr. Herzog!
