The Braves originated in Boston, where they cycled through six names, including the Doves, before settling on the Brave name in 1912. They would become the Bees from '36-'40, however, the would revert back to the Brave name. The Braves won one World Series in Boston in 1914, moved to Milwaukee in 1953, where they won a World Series in 1957, before finally settling in Atlanta in 1966, where they won a World Series in 1995. The Braves have won seventeen pennants in their 130 year history, with 16 playoff appearances in the expansion era.
