The Florida Marlins entered the National League in 1993 with the Colorado Rockies and quickly found themselves in contention as a franchise. In 1997, they became the youngest franchise ever to win a World Series, doing so in their fifth season. The feat has since been out done by the Arizona Diamonbacks whose win in 2001 was in their fourth season. The Marlins would win again in 2003 after fighting off contraction talks.
