Sparky only lasted one season in the Majors as a player, 1959 with the Philadelphia Phillies where he compiled a .218 BA in 477 ABs. Sparky's biggest success came as a manager, where he reached the World Series four times with Cincinatti, including his first season in 1970. Anderson won the World Series in 1975 and '76 with the Reds and in '84 with the Tigers. He was also named Manager of the Year in '84 and '87. Mr. Anderson graciously signed my 1989 Topps in nine days. Thanks Mr. Anderson!
