Norm was drafted in the first round of the 1984 draft by the Montreal Expos, 28th overall. An All-Star in 1992 with the Cincinatti Reds, Charlton was one of the Nasty Boys, a contributing bullpen member of the 1990 World Series Champion Reds. Charlton would pitch for six teams in thirteen seasons, posting a 51-54 record with 97 saves and a 3.71 ERA.
