Paul Quantrill 1996 Leaf Signature
Obtained: Purchased from eBay; received October, 2006.
Quantrill, a London, Ontario native, was a sixth round pick by the Boston Red Sox in 1989. He made his debut on July 20, 1992 for the Sox, striking out three in two and two-thirds of an inning. Came up primarily as a reliever; a trial runs as a starter in 1993 and 1996 cemented his fate in the pen when he posted 6-12 and 5-14 records respectively. Quantrill would thrive as a quality reliever, however, for the rest of his career, posting an 11-2 record and reaching the All-Star game in 2001 as a member of the Blue Jays.
