The Twins joined the American League in 1901 as the original Washington Senators before moving to Minnesota after the 1960 season. They would win only one World Series in Washington, 1924, but would find more success in Minnesota, winning two World Series in a five season span in 1987 and 1991. The Twins have five numbers retired.
