Todd was taken in the first round of the 1989 draft, 27th overall, by the Houston Astros out of Jacksonville State University. He would make his Major League debut on July 7, 1993 at age 25. His 42 saves in 2000 were good enough for an All-Star appearance with the Tigers. Jones was the closer on the 2006 Tigers World Series team after playing for eight different teams in 13 previous seasons.
